The Terrasses du Relais, the restaurant of the Hotel Le Relais de la Malmaison, continues to evolve but does not change its spirit and ethos. Here, you will always find an integral blend of refinement and tradition, innovation and taste. Likewise, our chef Paulo Goncalves remains the master of his domain and head of a superb team. This spring, as we will see, the Terrasses du Relais offers a carefully conceived and appetising menu with vegetal and original accents, while retaining its attachment to traditional recipes, and fresh seasonal produce. That’s how the Terrasses de la Malmaison remains a place where it’s a true pleasure to meet up with friends, where lovers are delighted to celebrate an event, and where colleagues can enjoy an excellent business meal.
… With a change of decor
If you are a regular at the Terrasses du Relais, you can have fun checking out the changes we have made. We have chosen to modify the decor of the restaurant with small touches designed to bestow upon it a new freshness while maintaining the friendly and elegant atmosphere we all love. The carpet has been changed, providing a sense of warmth on chilly days while adding to the pleasing tranquillity. We have also made some changes to the furniture, to maintain a designer standard and ensure that our guests can savour a wonderful taste experience in a contemporary and up-to-date setting. You will thus be able to discover or rediscover the refined ambiance that has helped to establish the reputation of the Terrasses du Relais, along with an appropriate touch of modernity. What’s more, you will find soothing greenery around the edge of the terrace that will help to make your gourmet moments more intimate and private.
On the menu
Chef Goncalves' spring menu brings new surprises. Vegetables play an essential role with, for example, vegan dishes such as the Fantaisie with tandoori and virgin oil, or the Mêlée of red cabbage, coriander, tahina and bergamot vinaigrette seeds, but also with surprising accompaniments such as the seaweed butter that goes with the braised veal or the ball celery risotto that enhances the Serrano ham. Influences are subtly mixed to enchant your taste buds. That’s how salmon maki goes well with savoury goat’s cheese, and sea bass fillet enjoys a solid marriage with sweet spices. Finally, classics find a magnificent new life under the direction of Chef Goncalves. The beef rib steak and homemade fries or the leg of monkfish with citrus fruits and young carrots are perfect examples. Finally, let’s not forget the essential desserts. The salted butter caramel rice pudding and the pistachio, fruit and marshmallow sponge cake offer a deliciously indulgent touch, the chocolate gianduja and blackberry tartlet will charm chocolate lovers, while the fruit soup with yuzu syrup and Breton shortbread will satisfy the sweet desires of even the most jaded dessert aficionado...
