The Relais : Summer menu freshness and pleasure on the terrace

The beautiful and balmy days of summer are back and the Relais de la Malmaison offers the ideal setting in which to enjoy them. Our summer menu, as refreshing as it is appetising, can be savoured and appreciated all the better on the terrace. Here’s your chance to give your taste buds some blissful memories...

 

Breaking for lunch

At the Relais de la Malmaison you can enjoy a warm, friendly and authentic atmosphere a short distance from the capital. In the hotel’s restaurant, Les Terrasses du Relais, you will enjoy rare moments of true gastronomic pleasure when you savour the cuisine prepared by our chef, Florian PONTOIZEAU, who works wonders with the seasonal ingredients that he uses with flair in his expertly crafted dishes. The summer menu is fresh and offers a traditional cuisine based around summer produce. The dishes, prepared with great simplicity, honour modern gastronomy while being adorned with a touch of originality. Experience the fulfilment of enjoying our chef’s superb dishes on the terrace in the park, beneath the gentle caress of the sun.

 

Cheerful and sunny starters

With your feet in the grass, you can enjoy a haven of serenity far from the Parisian tumult and taste starters bursting with colour and sun. Inventive and fresh, they combine beef tataki with coriander and ginger in a marinade specially created in our kitchen by the Maestro himself. Crab meat, as you know, forms a perfect trio with cucumber and lime. You’ll discover this subtle association in a gazpacho that will refresh you even on the hottest days. Moving on to the tuna. Our chef chooses to unite this with a green apple jelly (who would believe it?), to form a close harmony duo hardly troubled by a few soybeans coming to join the party. Gourmets will appreciate the subtle blend of classicism and inventive notes to be found in the Roosevelt salad and the vegetable tomato salad, which mixes smoked duck breast with some delicious sun-dried tomatoes for your pleasure.

 

The main courses? A treat for the senses...

Let's move on to the main courses now. Whether you enjoy the flavours of land or sea, everyone will find a treat to delight them at the restaurant of the Relais Malmaison. The dish called Inspiration du Chef has a halo of mystery, and will be unveiled to you only on the spot. Do you find it difficult to choose between meat and fish? It will be even harder when it seems that the enticing aroma of the smoked salmon ravioli with cream of coriander seems to escape from the menu. Or perhaps you’ll be tempted by the fillets of red mullet stuffed artichokes and tapenade bringing an enticing hint of Provence! On the meat side, the Iberian pork always proves popular, but what about the entrecôte and its homemade fries or the rack of lamb that combines with roasted watermelon and argan oil to unveil unique flavours?

 

 

And for dessert…

After this intense tasting at an excellent quality/price ratio will come the moment to move on to a sweet note to delight any gourmet. The dessert menu features the cheerfully summery colours of red fruits, passion fruit, lemon, lime, pineapple, mango, raspberries and blackberries. You will find all this chromatic enchantment in succulent bavarois, tarts, carpaccios, granita and ice cream cups. Unless you are tempted by a gourmet coffee as you think about succumbing to the sin of gluttony....
